Job Description

In late 2019, PRF launched a new area of work focused on impact investing and social enterprise, we are now looking to grow the team, as to date, the Foundation has committed more than $70m in impact investments to a variety of social enterprises, social impact bonds and impact investing funds.

The Foundation is now seeking an experienced leader to further develop and execute PRF’s impact investing strategy. The role requires both strategic thinking skills as well as the ability to ‘roll up the sleeves’ and structure a variety of transactions.

Desired Skills and Experience

Key responsibilities

  • Strategy
    • Monitoring industry development to keep abreast of market trends, opportunities and risks
    • Updating and refining our impact investing strategy to best support our value add to the market and to our mission
  • Opportunity assessment
    • Providing rigorous oversight of and support to team members in the evaluation and diligence of new investment opportunities
  • Investment structuring and closing
    • Providing guidance and sign-off to team members in negotiating and structuring investment terms
  • Investment management
    • Providing post-investment support to investees, including via participation on governance bodies
    • Overseeing reporting and measurement for the impact investing portfolio
  • Stakeholder management
    • Presenting to the PRF Board and Investment Committee, as appropriate, on strategic choices, investment options and portfolio reviews

Personal Characteristics and Skills

  • Significant experience in responsible investing, impact investing or related fields, in a transactional role
  • Expert understanding of financial markets, instruments and investor types
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound stakeholder management skills (C-suite, Board, investees, co-investors, service providers, etc.)
  • Excellent team and people management skills
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous, complex and agile environments
  • Highly resourceful and motivated, able to take initiative and consult effectively
  • Ability to manage simultaneous, often conflicting tasks
  • A team player, able to work within a small, professional team
  • Self-starter with a “roll up the sleeves” attitude
