About the role

As we scale our business and our database grows from 25 million loans to 100 million loans and beyond, we are looking for a senior business intelligence professional to ensure that all of this data drives commercial, impact, and credit decisions.

We have built a robust data engineering infrastructure to enable integrations with all of our fintech partners and the execution of data science and econometrics research using these data sets. You will be leading the next phase of growth in surfacing Lendable’s industry-leading data to our Investments + Risk + Investor Relations teams as well as US and European investors and emerging market fintechs through automated and self-service tools.

In this role, you will collaborate with Lendable’s Investments, Risk, and Investor Relations teams to understand their needs for automated data analysis. You will use these requirements to design and build the dashboards and reports that automatically surface these pieces of analysis. You will work with the data engineers, econometricians, engineers, and our CTO to implement the BI and information architecture to ensure that we can surface this data with clarity on single sources of truth and definitions.

You are the conduit to make sure that all decision makers can get the data that they need when they need it to make difficult impact and credit decisions.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibility is to design, build, and surface the analytics that we need to make decisions across the business. You will meet with stakeholders to design the tools, ensure clear data language for all visualizations, and build the outputs for Lendable’s team members and investors to make use of the data.

• Set the vision and strategy for business intelligence at Lendable. Run process to choose and implement Lendable’s business intelligence systems and infrastructure.
• Gather requirements for data and analytics across internal stakeholders (investment officers, risk officers, etc) and external stakeholders (investors in Lendable’s funds).
• Drive Business Intelligence strategy based on internal and external needs, create tickets for all features, and maintain BI roadmap.
• Design and build queries, data models, dashboards, reports, and visualizations to meet stakeholder needs including data tools to allow investments and risk teams to make credit/impact decisions and reports to give external investors insight into Lendable’s fund performance.
• Triage all internal and external data requests to automate answers, train users, and update BI strategy/roadmap accordingly.
• Create and maintain definitions and documentation for all metrics, charts, tables, and fields across Lendable’s entire data ecosystem.
• Ownership of data governance across Lendable, including the flow of data from Lendable’s data warehouse and ad-hoc data stores (such as Google Sheets business operations data) into visualizations. Maintaining up to date data governance and data flow documentation across the entire org.

Capabilities + experience:

• Expertise designing data visualizations and business intelligence dashboards to meet diverse stakeholder needs.
• Strong SQL and semantic data modeling skills to implement data visualizations and BI dashboards.
• 5+ years working with business intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Apache Superset, Mode, Looker, or similar tools.
• Experience designing, mapping, and documenting complicated data flows across multiple data sources and outputs.
• Experience gathering requirements across stakeholders and ticketing requests. Deep curiosity about data and user requirements is a must. Experience creating and maintaining roadmaps is a plus.
• Comfort with financial metrics and credit concepts is a must. Experience working in fintech or financial services is a plus.
