Purpose of this role
Atypical Partner aims to be a catalyst for positive social and environmental change, creating meaningful value for our stakeholders and supporting businesses for long-term growth and impact. With its ESG and sustainability practice having been set up in 2019 we incorporate ESG risks and opportunities into our investment processes to select the most impactful opportunities and help accelerate growth of our portfolio companies. We are looking for an additional member to support the Head of ESG & Sustainability to focus on ESG management of our main strategy Three Hills Capital partners and future productsin the impact investing space, as well as improving our ESG practices at corporate level.
The location of the role will be in Milan, Italy where the Head of Sustainability is based.
Key Responsibilities
Working together with our Investment Team on sustainability:
• Establish sectors and sub-sectors where the capital can be additive
• Identify ESG/impact risks and opportunities throughout the investment selection process
• Apply and evolve our ESG tools to measure and optimise impact during an investment, in line with EU SFDR requirements
• Design impact methodology for new impact investing products
• Deliver ESG initiatives that drive value across the portfolio together with the value creation team
• Lead on ESG and impact data measurement, monitoring and reporting that positions AP well with investors and the market
Supporting the firm to become more sustainable:

Deliver SFDR reporting for 2021
• Improve ESG efforts at firm level e.g. carbon strategy, D&I initiatives in conjunction with the ESG Hub, our firm-level ESG committee
• Support IR team on investor ESG due diligences
• Prepare UNPRI assessment and annual sustainability report
• Prepare sustainability training material for investment team and support staff
• Research on market trends and engage with impact leadership networkssuch as the UNPRI, the IMP, The Impact Frontiers network, AIFI and many others
• Contribute to the continuous advocacy efforts in the market and support smaller thought pieces on selected topics.

Key Competencies
• 3-4 years of experience working in ESG/impact consulting, research or investing
• A passion for driving social and environmental change – skills and knowledge around environmental management and EU SFDR implementation desired
• Practical understanding of impact and ESG standards and methodologies
• Good analytical and strategic skills, with entrepreneurial judgement and a basic understanding of private market investment
• Self‐starter and entrepreneurial pragmatic mindset who can work with good strategic guidance but limited day-to‐day support to deliver results
• Exceptional interpersonal skills building trust with multiple stakeholders at all levels at AP and across its portfolio companies
• Italian and English speaking with any other European language as a bonus
• Availability to travel between our 3 offices (London, Milan, Luxembourg) and our European portfolio companies
