Coordinator – Equality Fund

Shaped by leaders from every sector, this new funding model will harness gender-lens investing and bold, multi-sector philanthropy to unlock the full potential of capital to support a gender equal future.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are in the process of recruiting a Coordinator, Investment Program, who can support key projects and relationships, conduct research and analysis, assist in the Equality Fund’s investor relationship management, and provide administrative and logistic support for the Investment Team. The Equality Fund’s investment program, in collaboration with key partners, consists of field-building in gender-lens investing. The Coordinator, Investment Program will report to the Head of Investment Strategy, and will work with colleagues in other areas such as Strategy, Innovation, and Impact; Finance; Policy; Philanthropy; Global Programs, Communications, as well as with our external investment partners.

SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES    

Programming Support

  • Support the collection, management, and analysis of reporting data, both quantitative and qualitative, in conjunction with the Finance Team
  • Support the Equality Fund Investment Team’s contribution to industry initiatives and groups, e.g. the Canada Forum for Impact Investment and Development (CAFIID), GenderSmart, etc.
  • Ensure appropriate capturing and maintenance of investment stakeholder information in  CRM

Field-building & Impact Communications

  • Support knowledge management within the Investment Team, including gathering metrics and lessons learned, planning internal learning sessions, and other team-building activities
  • Support the Investment Team’s thought leadership efforts and foster industry recognition, including liaising with Equality Fund’s Communications team and developing blogs, articles, and presentations to enhance brand recognition
  • Interface with the Communications team to support social media channels during live events featuring members of the Investment Team

Administrative

  • Lead or support the logistics of Investment Team stakeholder events
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings and provide calendar management support for investment-related governance meetings
  • Support analysis and reporting of investment program impact data
  • Attending virtual meetings, transcribe recordings using available software, and take and distribute meeting minutes

Other

  • Be a positive contributor to our high-performing, self-starting, mission-driven culture
  • Engage with colleague on the team and across the organisation on special projects, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • At least two years of experience working in the non-profit sector
  • Demonstrated interest in/knowledge of gender-lens investing, impact investing, and/or investor relations;
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, online scheduling/polling tools (e.g. Calendly, Slido), social media and communications applications (e.g. Hootsuite, MailChimp);
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Asana) and relational databases and/or data visualisation tools (e.g. Salesforce) is a plus;
  • Knowledge of/exposure to financial analysis, economic research, and/or accounting is a plus
  • Commitment to the work and values of the Equality Fund, in particular the values of gender equality and shifting traditional power systems;
  • Commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion and to anti-racist/anti-oppressive practice;
  • Bilingual French/English considered an asset;
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and complex environment is essential;
  • Can work effectively, both as part of a team and independently;
  • The ability to think creatively, bust silos, inspire others and forge connections will enable your success
