We are seeking to appoint a new Group Manager for the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group. Reporting to the Director of the Group, and working closely with the Senior Management Team, the postholder is responsible for the smooth running of a large and growing team. They will direct operations, finance and administrative matters at the group level.
The Group is multidisciplinary and works globally across asset classes, finance professions, and with different parts of the financial system. We are the largest such centre globally and are working to be the world’s best place for research and teaching on sustainable finance and investment. The Group is going through a period of growth and development and will reach over 40 staff in 2022. The Group leads or plays a leading role in a variety of programmes, initiatives and centres, including the Leverhulme Centre for Nature Recovery, Public and Third Sector Academy for Sustainable Finance (P3SA), Spatial Finance Initiative, Transition Plan Taskforce, and UK Centre for Greening Finance & Investment (CGFI).
The successful applicant will lead a small team and be responsible for implementing strong project management systems and practices across the Group. The Group Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operational project management and coordination across the group, working closely with the Director and the Senior Management Team. You will also be managing and contributing to the preparation of proposals, as well as project and financial reporting.
You will have a strong track record in project management, preferably in a research context, including communications, events, stakeholder engagement and policy engagement. You will have excellent financial management skills with experience of budget administration, forecasting and reporting. You will have a pro-active and adaptive attitude, able to identify new opportunities for impact while balancing them against existing priorities and resources.
