Position
Bridgespan is currently seeking experienced Managers for our Impact Investing practice. The Impact Investing Manager will play critical roles inside this rapidly growing practice at Bridgespan. To date, Bridgespan is proud to have influenced more than $5.4B of investment capital flowing to positive social and environmental outcomes. Bridgespan has had the privilege to collaborate with seven of the top fifteen private equity firms in the world, large CDFIs, and ultra-high-worth-individuals–on a range of customized projects. Common types of projects include strategy development for new impact funds, impact due diligence for live deals under consideration by our clients, and portfolio support in service of helping investors and companies drive more positive social and environmental impact after investments have been made. Our team has gotten to analyze and support more than 1000 different impact investments in topics areas ranging from innovative recycling models in Sri Lanka to mobile banking in Africa to rural transportation in North America – the topics are endless and intriguing! The Impact Investing Manager will specialize in serving the full range of impact investing clients at Bridgespan–from leading market-rate private equity investors, to innovative impact-first family offices. Alongside this specialization which will encompass the vast majority of your work, the Impact Investing Manager will also have the opportunity to work on select projects in other areas of Bridgespan in order to benefit from and become familiar with the full breadth of Bridgespan’s social impact platform.
Managers who join Bridgespan often come from roles at for-profit entities such as strategy consultancies or financial services institutions and join Bridgespan because of a passion to make greater social and / or environmental impact and a desire to work full time in mission-driven work and the commitment to consistently apply an equity lens to the work. The Manager role is a senior role within the firm, a true stepping stone to Partner where consultants develop expertise in team and client management, while also developing specific thought leadership in the Impact Investing field. Managers oversee the formulation and implementation of equity centered strategic recommendations to improve the performance of Bridgespan’s clients. Managers build and maintain client relationships, provide leadership and supervision across lines of difference to case team members and assume responsibility for the analytical process by which case teams create value.
This position can be be based in any U.S. office, preferably in San Francisco. We are also open to remote work with the U.S.
