Investment Associate PE Direct Investments, focus Access to Energy Africa

40 hours per week, based in Nairobi, Kenya

Our investor base includes institutional investors, development banks, governments, NGOs, and retail banks, all of whom seek to combine both financial returns with and social/environmental impact.

Job Description

As an Investment Associate you are part of Triple Jump’s Direct Investments team, responsible for the full investment cycle of equity and debt-based investments into companies active in the access to energy eco-system in Sub-Saharan Africa (“SSA”).

Within a dedicated transaction team, your main focus will be the identification, appraisal, processing and monitoring of investments into companies active across the entire access to energy eco-system in Sub-Saharan Africa. Additionally, you will also perform overarching internal team tasks that are related to internal decision making, processes, client relationship management as well as day-to-day operational business activities; and Further support of business development and corporate projects in strong cooperation also with HQ and other business lines and regional offices.

The position requires frequent travel to investees and stakeholders located in SSA countries; but also to Europe, in particular the Netherlands and secondly France and Switzerland. You will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.


Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science or related field is required, Master’s degree is preferred
  • 3-4 years of experience, ideally in PE, VC, business consulting industries or other related experience
  • Understanding of private capital investment process
  • Some exposure to financial modelling, valuation and investment analysis
  • An understanding of sector and business model analysis for investment purposes
  • Must possess strong skills in all Microsoft Office applications, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiastic, creative, ambitious, and willing to go the extra mile
  • Knowledge of economic and social development challenges in Africa.
  • Experience with collaborating and influencing cross-functional teams is needed
  • Mastery of English in writing and speaking; French andother languages widely spoken in SSA (e.g. Swahili) an advantage
