Investment Officer- World Impact Foundation

About Us
World Impact Foundation (WIF) is a private foundation established in Los Angeles in 2011. WIF focuses on increasing affordable access to basic services for populations living in poverty. Our approach includes grant making, recoverable grants and direct debt investments into social
enterprises working in basic services in Latin America and the United States. WIF has launched a debt fund providing companies with financing to scale operations. As part of this fund, a recoverable grant program has also been launched to prepare companies for follow-on debt
investment. As such, we are seeking an Investment Officer to support the growth of the fund.
Role Description
Investment Officer – Part Time & Remote
● Pipeline Development
○ Monitor investment opportunities in Latin America
○ Develop and manage relationships with key pipeline partners
○ Identify and conduct initial screening calls or meetings with potential borrowers
● Due Diligence
○ Maintain contact and manage the due diligence process with prospective companies
○ Collect, analyze, and synthesize information requested such as business models’ methods of creating systemic change, financial and impact data
● Investment Structuring
○ Propose debt investment structures including deal terms, amortization schedules for potential transactions
○ Review financial models and conduct sensitivity analysis
○ Co-create an investment memo including the financial analysis of potential investment opportunities to share with the Investment Committee
● Portfolio Management
○ Collect reporting information from existing investments in Latin America

○ Analyze quarterly financial statements to ensure compliance with provisions of the loan agreements. Including ability to identify reporting gaps and provide coaching support to companies to improve financial reporting practices
○ Synthesize information to create snapshot of financial performance including ability to service debt for Investment Committee review
○ Provide recommendations on underperforming loans and support negotiations and restructures
● Process Improvements
○ Improve procedures to bring efficiency and consistency to our investment process
○ Provide recommendations on current CRM infrastructure to enhance our productivity and data gathering, when needed.
● Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field.
● 5+ years experience in a financial/investment role within the impact investing landscape.
● Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational abilities, and ability to coordinate and prioritize among conflicting demands and deadlines.
● Self-motivated team player with excellent multi-tasking skills, excellent follow-up skills, and strong attention to detail.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
● Possess good networking, relationship management, and customer service skills.
● Spanish & English language proficiency.
● Experience with Foundations and/or Program Related Investing (PRI).
● Ability to work remotely – based in Latin America.
● Ability to travel as needed for due diligence visits.
Candidates should be based in Latin America. Candidates can expect a minimum of 8 hours per week or
32 hours per month with flexibility to increase as needed.
