Vice President, Investments – Avivar Capital

Avivar is seeking a mission-aligned Vice President, Investments who will be responsible for collaborating with the firm’s investment professionals on all aspects of impact investment execution. ​

​The Vice President, Investments will work closely with the Managing Director, Investments and junior investment staff to structure and diligence private market investment opportunities, including investments into venture capital, buyout, and real estate funds, direct venture capital investments, direct debt investments to both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, and investments in real estate projects. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record in financial analysis, transaction structuring, investment due diligence, project management, client relations, and training and mentoring of junior investment professionals. ​


​Essential functions

  • ​Lead due diligence on impact investment opportunities that seek to deliver social and/or environmental benefit alongside a financial return.​
  • ​Oversee and participate in all aspects of client projects, including performing analytical tasks, developing recommendations, supervising investment associates and analysts, and developing presentation materials.
  • ​Interact directly with clients and present recommendations to client investment committees.
  • ​Conduct analyses, prepare materials, and advise clients on impact investment and financial issues; lead and coordinate ad hoc client requests.
  • ​Represent Avivar Capital externally through marketing presentations, conferences and other business development opportunities.​


​Qualifications

  • ​Minimum 5 years of experience in private market investments, corporate finance, corporate development, and/or investment banking. Prior experience with impact investing helpful.
  • ​Extensive experience with transaction modeling, investment structuring, and valuation analysis.
  • ​Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • ​Critical/strategic thinking and market orientation.
  • ​Strong client management/client service skills.
  • ​Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with minimal supervision.
  • ​Team player with a positive attitude and ability to collaborate effectively.
  • ​Keen interest in developing and mentoring junior talent.
  • ​Fluency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). ​​


Supervisory responsibilities​
Oversees Associates, Analysts, and Contractors as needed.​

Work environment​
Remote.​

Travel​
Willingness to travel ~1 week/month. ​

  • Series 65 must be completed within 6 months of hire
