Investment Associate – ZOMALAB

About the Role:

ZOMA is looking for highly-motivated and talented individual to join our firm as an Investment Associate to play a key role on our Zoma Capital investment team. The role offers a unique entry into thematic investing and the venture capital/private equity industry. As an Investment Associate, you will spend your time on new investment opportunities, portfolio company management, and internal firm operations. You will gain experience in evaluating new investments and learning, from the ground-up, how a sector-specific investor identifies, evaluates, and executes investments in a diverse set of funds and companies. As an Investment Associate, you will also have the opportunity to work closely with senior members of the firm, family office principals, management teams, and external advisors.

The Investment Associate will be responsible for supporting the due diligence and research efforts of a small deal team and will work with Funds and portfolio companies to drive impact and market-rate returns. You will evaluate hundreds of investment opportunities, gain strong industry and business model expertise, and develop your abilities as an investor.

The candidate will:

• Work as a key member of deal team to assess and execute venture/private equity fund investments and co-
investments across various strategies and industries
• Develop and present analyses and investment memoranda to Investment Committee, including family office
• Help monitor and maintain relationships with existing investees and source potential new opportunities
Drive portfolio management of existing portfolio
• Represent ZOMA by participating in meetings with the leaders of VC/PE firms and the management teams of
• Work on special projects typically related to strategy, portfolio planning and portfolio construction

Desired Skills and Expertise:

• Candidate should have 2+ years of experience with exposure to investing, for instance investment banking, private equity, credit investing, or management consultancy
• Top performer within peer group in the following areas: qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, understanding of finance, accounting, financial modeling, business judgment, and attention to detail
• High degree of intellectual curiosity, proactive mentality, track record of going above and beyond what is asked and desire to work in a results-oriented entrepreneurial environment
• An ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, partners and entrepreneurs
• High level of integrity with strong professional references
• Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills required
• Ability to pass extensive background checks
• Spanish speaking skills is a plus
